Introduction:

Have you ever had the feeling that your LAN or devices on your LAN were misbehaving, but you could not determine what was wrong? This month, we hope to present a meeting which will describe network monitoring tools and techniques which can be used to diagnose and repair various network related problems.


Description of Talk:

Several things have happened to change the face of Network problem resolution in the last 5 years, our speaker will attempt to explain what they are, and how the industry has reacted.


Speaker Biography:

Richard Whitehead is responsible for developing "Netcool" business and partnerships in the United States. His rich technical background includes 16 years in communications and specialized experience with network management technologies. He began his career working on data communications projects for the Ministry of Defense in the U.K. At TSL Communications (later Retix Systems), he supported LAN and WAN products and emerging network management technologies. At Spider Networks (recently purchased by Shiva), Mr. Whitehead built and managed the technical support team and established the company's Remote Network Diagnostic Service business unit. Mr. Whitehead was educated at Farnborough College of Technology, and has a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
