Introduction:

Trend Micro has software which, at the firewall, can scan and clean Internet traffic such as SMTP, HTTP, FTP, Java/Active-X Applets for viruses, worms and other known "evils".

Even though your Unix Systems may be semi-immune to PC-Viruses, your Windows Systems behind your firewall are not. You know Windows... you must protect your users from Word Processor and Spreadsheet Macro Viruses, aside from the good old executable virus or worm.

The portability of Java based applications does create a threat for Unix-based Systems at the browser level. These threats are best stopped at the Internet Gateway or Firewall. Real-Time scanning of these protocols is now being used to identify viruses and stop them before they actually enter onto your internal LAN.
